Parasite Eve fans have been surprised with a brand-new PS5 console exclusive RPG inspired by the beloved PlayStation classic. The Square Enix RPG hasn’t seen a new entry since 2010 despite fan requests, and Chinese developer IceSitruuna is done waiting around. The studio has announced Parasite Mutant for PS5 and PC, and we’re ready to part with our money.

PS5 console exclusive RPG Parasite Mutant gets 2026 release date window

Parasite Mutant is a sci-fi horror RPG set in the distant future. Players will step into the shoes of “Psionic agent Nova,” who is sent on “a mission to an abandoned and secluded island city filled with horrifying creatures, not knowing that what happened on the island will completely change her fate.”

Parasite Mutant’s combat system is a fusion of Active Time Battle and a chain system. Its art style is described as “semi-realistic anime.” The game will feature a leveling and outfit-changing system as well as a New Game+ mode at launch.

Speaking of launch, Parasite Mutant is scheduled for release in 2026, but a specific release date has not been announced.

“We hope that this little innovation of ours will bring an enjoyable and pleasant gameplay experience to our players,” IceSitruuna wrote.
