2023 is a big year for fighting games with mainline entries coming to Mortal Kombat and Tekken. One other OG fighting game series is Street Fighter, and SF6 is expected to launch this June.
Thanks to IGN, we have a fighting ground gameplay overview, and it gives us a good look at the main fighting set-up in Street Fighter 6. Watch this:
Get a look at the new features coming to 1-on-1 fights in Street Fighter 6, including enhancements in audio accessibility, character damage models, Dynamic Control scheme, Arcade Mode, and more.
Though Street Fighter has always had a tough learning curve for new players, the practice mode on SF6 has been revealed to be pretty extensive, having simple run throughs for each character and their movelist; and even allowing players to change the speed of the match in order to properly figure out the timing of combos.
We also get a look at the accessibility features, with different sounds depicting where an opponent is hit as well as the distance of an enemy from a player.
It also isn’t Street Fighter if we didn’t have any alternate game modes, and it seems were going to have some minigames with players beating down trucks and basketballs thrown at them. There’s also an extreme arcade mode which has specific rules for matches that should be fun for parties full of experienced players.
Street Fighter 6 launches on June 2 for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and PC.
