Earlier last week, Sony Interactive Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Tencent for blatantly ripping off its award-winning video game franchise Horizon with Polaris Quest’s upcoming game, Light of Motiram. Following that lawsuit, Tencent has made some noticeable changes to the game’s Steam page to look less like Sony’s popular franchise.

Tencent and Polaris Quest’s Horizon clone, Light of Motiram, make big changes to Steam page following Sony lawsuit

As pointed out by The Game Post, the Light of Motiram Steam page has been updated to lean less on the Horizon vibes. Specifically, a different selection of screenshots, new key art, a release window, and a rewritten game description have been added following the lawsuit.

This was the description of the game pre-update:

“In a world overrun by colossal machines, explore the vast open world, build your base of operations, advance technology, train Mechanimals, and take on formidable bosses. Starting from the primitive age, forge a new path of development. Defy the machination, survive with mechanimals.“

This is the new description now on Light of Motiram’s Steam page:

“Make smart use of everything around you to stay alive and face off against formidable bosses, every step is fraught with danger and requires courage. Only by overcoming the challenges of survival can you carve out a place for yourself in this unforgiving land.”

The screenshots that are now present on the page feature fewer of the mechanimals and focus more on the environments. The key art, which originally put an Aloy lookalike front and center, now has a cute little penguin robot with less of the lush green Horizon: Zero Dawn’s key art is known for.

Not much else has been updated about Sony’s lawsuit against Tencent. However, the changes to Light of Motiram’s Steam page does seem like a response to the accusations.
