PS5 players have been treated to quite a few surprises this week, but we weren’t expecting PS Plus to add another fantastic brand-new game day-one. Yesterday, Ubisoft shadow dropped The Rogue Prince of Persia on consoles, and missing in the original announcement was the news that the game landed straight onto the PS Plus Extra, Premium catalog at no additional cost.
PS5 game The Rogue Prince of Persia quietly added to PS Plus, taking members by surprise
The original announcement suggested that The Rogue Prince of Persia was a day-one Xbox Game Pass title. The press received we (and everyone else) received made no mention of PS Plus. Shortly afterwards, Sony tweeted this out:
Our guess is that since the original announcement came via Microsoft, the company understandably didn’t want to advertise PS Plus.
What’s more is that The Rogue Prince of Persia has been added to PS5’s streaming library, so Premium users don’t need to download the game. Although the PS Store makes no mention of PS5 Pro enhancements, players are reporting that The Rogue Prince of Persia runs at a solid 120 FPS. The base console also seems to get a stable 60+ FPS.
Non-subscribers can purchase The Rogue Prince of Persia for $29.99.
