Microsoft has been steadily releasing some of its first-party Xbox games to the PS5 recently, some of which have proven to be profitable for the company’s gaming brand. One that PlayStation players are eagerly awaiting is Bethesda’s space-faring RPG, Starfield. While an earlier report claimed it would release this year, that may no longer be the case.

Xbox exclusive Starfield still coming to PS5, according to insider

This rumor comes from insider NateTheHate. On X (formerly Twitter), user @AleMD94 asked if they had heard anything new about the PS5 port of Starfield. The insider claims that the port is still happening, but may have been delayed.

Initially, NateTheHate claimed the Starfield PS5 release date announcement was to be sometime this year. A specific window for the announcement was unknown, but it was suggested that the time gap between its announcement and release was short.

Xbox and Bethesda have yet to reveal Starfield’s release on PS5 formally. Additionally, as NateTheHate suggests, these plans can always change at any point. So, for now, take this information with a grain of salt. We’ll update when we know more about the game’s PS5 release.

NateTheHate is pretty reliable when it comes to these rumors and leaks, so there is probably truth to the claims. One of the most recent claims that did come to fruition was Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2’s release on PS5. Rumors started gaining traction in February of this year. The Ninja Theory game is now slated to release on August 12 and will be PS5 Pro enhanced.

Starfield has been rumored for a PS5 release for a while now, especially after Microsoft began releasing its other first-party titles, like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5, to Sony’s current-gen gaming platform. One leak involving the game’s mod page sparked those rumors, in addition to NateTheHate’s claims.
