Hit PS Plus Game Gets Much-Needed Update

PS Plus Blue Prince

Dogubomb and Raw Fury released Blue Prince back in April, launching on PS Plus on the same day. Subscribers were treated with some special, as the first-person puzzle game is one of the best-reviewed games of the year so far. While it may be great, it’s not without its flaws. A brand-new PS5 update fixes some of its most fundamental issues.

What is the Blue Prince PS5 update?

Available to download today, the new Blue Prince PS5 update fixes issues related to game saves that will be welcome for players. Reducing save file sizes, even if they were small, is a nice change. Backup save files are now created at the end of each day will give players a bit of security if they can’t play an entire run in one session.

Here are the full patch notes for the Blue Prince PS5 update.

PS5 Save Issues – Patch Update

This patch addresses save file issues experience by PS5 players and includes:

Changelog:

  • Blue Prince save files sizes have been reduced (approximately by half)
  • Profile switching is now faster
  • Save progression improved to remedy the save rollback issue
  • Back up save files are now created at the end of each day
  • Back up save file size reduced
  • Added restore from back up option: This can be located in the Profiles menu

When Blue Prince launched on PS5 earlier this year, it was met with universal acclaim. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 92 across 54 critic reviews. It is currently available to play via PS Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions. Here’s a brief description of the game for anyone interested in checking it out:

“Welcome to Mt. Holly, the mysterious manor with shifting rooms. In Blue Prince, you embark on a genre-defying experience, filled with a unique mix of mystery, strategy, and puzzles that weave together to create an unpredictable journey. Will your explorative steps lead you to the rumored Room 46?”
