A BioShock Game Has Reportedly Been Canceled

BioShock canceled

An unannounced BioShock game, whose existence surfaced a while back, has been canceled. According to a new report by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, a remake of the original BioShock was indeed in development, like insiders claimed, but 2K Games has shelved the project.

Rumored BioShock 1 remake was reportedly canceled in 2025

The BioShock 1 remake was reportedly canned earlier in 2025. Bloomberg didn’t say how long the game was in development and what led to its cancellation. What the report does make pretty clear, however, is that things aren’t looking too good in the BioShock world.

We still haven’t seen anything of the next BioShock game, referred to as BioShock 4 for now, which was announced in 2019.

It’s unclear what prompted the decision to remake the 2007 PS3 game since it has already received the remaster treatment.

It was recently reported that 2K Games was gearing up to make a BioShock related announcement of some sort. Fans were hoping to see BioShock 4, but Bloomberg claims that the game is in development hell.

With BioShock 1 remake and the new game out of the picture, the only thing left is a BioShock movie. Alternatively, the recent “leak” might just have been false.
